Vapor Intrusion has been a hot topic nationally and more recently locally as the ID DEQ moves towards the implantation a Draft Vapor Intrusion Evaluation proposal (Dec 09). What do you as a consultant, state agency employee or stakeholder need to know about Vapor Intrusion? Daryl Peterson, the air Technical Director from Pace Analytical will give a short over view on vapor intrusion talk about sampling strategies, types of media, analytical methodology, compound list and QA/QC requirements.

In urban and rural communities local stakeholders are likely to play a major role in the success of energy project development. Diane Adams of EnviroIssues will share relevant and recent experience in assisting major utilities and federal agencies siting high voltage transmission lines in the West. Three projects that impact urban and rural landscapes in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Wyoming will be highlighted and plenty of time to discuss lessons learned and tools to effectively engage the public during the federal environmental planning process and beyond.

Making the decision to decommission a dam in the Northwest is, in some ways, the easy part. Getting the dam out of the River on schedule, on budget and with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and the Endangered Species Act (ESA) listed salmon species in the Sandy River is the more challenging task. This presentation will focus on how Portland General Electric implemented this dam removal and some interesting observations that could be helpful to other facing this challenge.
