Returning for its third year, the 2010 Brownfields Redevelopment Conference will once again bring together the diverse parties that must collaborate to put contaminated properties back into productive use.

• A focus on communities. This year’s theme, Reclaiming Our Communities, reflects a focus on public and public/private projects that respond to the specific needs and circumstances of a community – whether a small city or a community within a larger city.


• A focus on planning. The agenda reflects the fact that granting agencies are increasingly expecting projects to be tied to a community based integrated planning approach that looks at sites within a broader community development strategy.

 

• A focus on financing. Given the current state of financial markets, the conference provides attendees with a realistic picture of current financing markets, what development options are fundable, and the financing sources and tools that can support them.

 

• A focus on success. The community planning process and the resulting public or public/private projects involve a range of stakeholders and business partners. Sessions will cover lessons learned, and strategies for success, in managing these complex endeavors.

Session offerings are provided for both experienced professionals and newcomers to the concept. Topics include:
