Chapter Committees guide the organization at the local level. They set the programming for the
monthly luncheons and other events in Portland, Seattle, and Boise; discuss
organizational topics, and weigh in on governmental affairs issues. (see Chapter Committees)
are at the core of NEBC’s educational activities. We rely on knowledgeable
members to craft the agendas for our various conferences.
Special Interest Forums
Special interest Forums provide opportunities for members to
communicate and interact with peers, while helping to advance the industry. At
this time, they include:
Oregon Water Tech Innovators (OWTI)
Formed to advance Oregon’s position as a leader in the water technology sector, OWTI includes representatives from private businesses, government, academia, trade associations, and economic development.The group is connected through an email Listserv and holds quarterly in-person gatherings. Brownfields Forums - both Oregon and Washington
For those interested in putting contaminated properties back
into productive use. Connected by the BrownfieldsOR
and BrownfieldsWA listservs. Meetings
are general held quarterly.
Energy Forums - both Oregon and Washington
For those working in, or supporting the development of, the
renewable energy and efficiency sectors. Meetings are generally held monthly in
Portland and quarterly in Seattle. Connected by the EnergyOR and EnergyWA
Biofuels Northwest - Regional
For those working to advance the bioenergy sector in the
Northwest, including biofuels, bio-based thermal, and bio-based electricity.
Connected by the BiofuelsNW listserv.
Young Environmental Professionals (YEP) - both Oregon and Washington
For those under 40, students, or new to the environmental, energy, and related fields (within 2-3 years), YEP’s goal is to inspire and nurture both personal and professional development. Connected by the YEP-OR and YEP-WA listservs. Group & Committee Info
